A singer turned actress and model turned actress were both turning heads as they posed for photographers at the unveiling of their new movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in Los Angeles at TCL Chinese Theatre.
Rihanna and Cara Delevingne are stars of the sci-fi film, reports the U.K.’s DailyMail and wowed on the red carpet Monday evening. The singer was elegant in a pale pink, tulle off the shoulder gown with a high low hem by Giambattista Valli Couture with a “mile-long” train. Everyone was focused on her sexy pair of Manolo Blahnik lace-up gladiator heels and matching rose pink Judith Leiber couture clutch. Rihanna’s hair was pulled backed and off her face in a high pouffy ponytail.
Model Cara Delevingne also did not disappoint wearing a glam silver metallic and sleek, halter-style couture gown by Iris van Herpen. She added silver strappy heels and vintage-sculpted, wavy blonde locks. Her famous eyebrows were boldly defined in makeup.
The “Valerian” flick is a futuristic one taking place in the 28th century. The peaceful metropolis of Alpha (city of a thousand planets) is being threatened by dark forces, so Valerian and Laureline travel to Alpha to stop the mayhem and restore order to the universe. The movie is based on the French science fiction comics series “Valérian and Laureline.” The film is thrilling and contains incredible visual effects, says director Luc Besson.
The role Rihanna played was a shape-shifting entertainer named Bubble, and Cara Delevingne was cast as the lead, Agent Laureline.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets opens in theaters through STX Entertainment on July 21 and on August 4th in the U.K.
