When Fashion Meets Royalty—and Rihanna

Rihanna is not known for making great hits alone. She is also iconic when it comes to dressing for the red carpet. With Riri, always expect something old, something new, and most definitely something designer. But she is not the only one with a great sense of fashion.

At the premier of ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’, Rih wooed her audience with a signature couture dress by Giambattista Valli. The pale pink attire was a fusion between her 2015 Grammy’s dress, by the same designer, and a hybrid of her top in the ‘Wild Thoughts’ music video.

Did Riri give the crowd wild thoughts? Definitely, especially when the rest of her dress, a tremendous train, showed up. Rihanna knew it best to complete the glamorous outfit with a pair of dazzling Manolo heels, strapping all the way to her knees. For charms, she accessorized with trendy jewels by Chopard.

But Rihanna Fenty isn’t the only one causing a stir in fashion trends. Over to England, the royal family of Cambridge shared the same fashion finesse on their courtesy tour to Berlin and Poland. Of course the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both dressed for the red carpet in style. But it is the little cherubs, Prince George and Princess Charlotte that stole the show and hearts of many.

Both George and Charlotte wore matching colors that echoed those worn by their parents. George spotted his signature collared blue shirt with complementing shorts, black shoes, and shorts. Charlotte, who looked all kinds of mellow, dressed in an equally blue colored sundress with patterns. She also had on a blue ribbon to complete her look.

Being a celebrity means you have to keep up with the trends or set the trend. Rihanna does it daringly with custom designer dresses that evoke awes and gawks whenever she passes. The Royal family kept things formal by choosing a matching color for the whole family.
